May ALLAH have mercy on our deceased and may he elevate their rank to Janat ul Firdous Insha’Allah. May ALLAH give you patience and hold your heart steadfast during these difficult times. ICCL made a commitment to support the community by making funeral costs more affordable, alleviating the burden on grieving families.
In this context, "family" encompasses both single individuals and those with spouses or dependents. To fulfill this commitment, ICCL offers two types of ACH Plus Payment Plans. Below, you'll find the details for making ACH Plus payments:
ACH Plus Payment Plan:
Family Plan A (Individual Coverage): For a family of one person, the ACH Plus monthly fee is $149 (or more).
Benefits:
- Funeral Payment up to $8000
Family Plan B (Multiple Coverage): For a family of two or more people including an individual, their spouse, their unmarried children of ages up to 20 years old and their parents older than the age of 70 living at the same residence, the ACH Plus monthly fee is $199 (or more).
Benefits:

- Sunday School Tuition Discount 10%
- Thamarat Institute Tuition Discount 10%
- Funeral Payment up to $8000 per family member
ACH Plus Rules & Regulations: The funeral payment will be made to the family member in accordance with the following rules and regulations.
Tax Deductible:
The following are the details of the tax credit a family member will receive:
- The family member will receive the tax credit every year of all the donations except $600.
Process:
The following are the details of the in-house processing:
- ICCL will write the check to the individual and the memo of the check will say the Funeral Expense of the Deceased member name. This amount will be considered as a gift and will not exceed $17000 as per IRS guidelines. The gift will be for each member without any discrimination. Any such payment shall not be considered as a 1099 or independent contractor payment or for any service to ICCL. If the payment amount exceeds $17000 for a family in the same year then ICCL will issue 1099 to the family for the whole amount.
- All the donations towards ACH Plus will go to an independent account called “ACH Donor Benefits” currently known as “Reserve Account” and the money may be used for any ICCL project.
- $50 of ACH Plus will be used for Funeral Expense as service and rest of the money will be as donation to ICCL.
- The Donor Benefits committee will handle all the rules and regulations and will check the eligibility whether the funds should be disbursed to the deceased family.
- The Donor Benefits Committee, Chairman of BOD (Board of Directors) and the President have the final discretion over the administration of this plan and disbursement of funds.
Rules:
The following are a list of rules that must be fulfilled by each family member:
- All the payments made towards ACH Plus are NON-REFUNDABLE. This is a donation to ICCL and not contingent on receiving any benefits from ICCL.
- The initial benefit start date is 10/1/2024 and the cutoff date for any ICCL member family to register for the Donor Benefits membership is 9/30/2024.
- A registration fee of $500 is required for NON ICCL members. For ICCL members who miss the deadline, a registration fee of $500 will also be required.
- Any family that joins after the deadline must pay ACH Plus fees every month and wait one year from the date of registration to receive any funeral benefits.
- It is the responsibility of each family to register themselves and their family members including children and parents.
- Each family member must provide their date of birth, full legal name, phone number, address and proof of address.
- Each family member must be Muslim.
- Each member will pay their dues using ICCL ACH Plus payment options.
- When an unmarried child of the registered family member reaches the age of 20-years-old they can apply for a ACH Family Plan A, and they will not need to pay registration fees and his/her benefits start immediately.
- Each family member (including children) must be living in the US and provide ICCL with proof of residency if requested.
- Each family member must be either a US citizen or hold a permanent resident card. It is the responsibility of the family to notify the Donor Benefits committee of any change of address updates for their parents and children.
- If any family member moves to a different address other than the family address on the file, then the membership of that family member will be canceled and he/she can start his/her membership separately.
- It is a requirement that ACH Plus must be paid monthly. Advanced payment can be made only for the current year and will not fulfill payment requirements for any subsequent periods moving forward.
- In the case of family hardship, the Donor Benefits committee in its sole discretion may decide to continue as a member or cancel the membership for the Donor Benefits plan.
- If a family misses ACH Plus payments for more than one year the family membership will be canceled. The family may rejoin the program by paying all missed payments and signing up for the monthly ACH Plus without paying registration fees of $500. The family must wait one year from the date of first ACH Plus payment in order to receive any benefits.
- If a family misses the monthly ACH Plus payment for less than one year, the family must make payment for all the missing months prior to receiving any benefits.
- If a head of the family passes away and uses the fund, then his/her registered family members can continue to pay their ACH Plus monthly fees in order to be an eligible member for the program.
Disbursement of Funds:
The funds will be disbursed with the following conditions:
- ICCL will pay ONLY to the registered individual.
- ICCL will not pay or transfer any funds to a NON-registered individual on behalf of any registered individual.
- Fund will be used ONLY to pay for funeral services, grave and any other charges directly related to the funeral or burying the body. ICCL requires the family to provide proof of expenses related to the funeral in the form of receipts or alternative forms of documentation such as invoices from the service provider or bank statement.
- If a registered person passes away while traveling internationally and is buried outside of the United States, ICCL will pay up to $3000 towards the funeral cost for that individual.
- If a registered family member passes away while traveling internationally but is buried in the United States, ICCL will pay up to the full amount of $8000.
Feedback from Religion Scholar:
Explanation why ACH Plus membership is not considered as an insurance plan?
Membership benefits typically involve access to specific services, discounts, or privileges provided by an organization or community, often related to social, recreational, or professional activities. Insurance, on the other hand, offers financial protection against potential risks or losses, providing compensation or coverage for specific events such as accidents, illnesses, or property damage. While both may offer forms of security, they serve different purposes and address different needs.
