Every Muslim is obligated to pay Fitra or Zakat-ul-Fitr during the month of Ramadan as a token of thankfulness to Allah for having enabled him/her to observe fasts. Its purpose is to purify those who fast from any indecent act or speech and to help the poor and needy. It is obligatory on each Muslim young or old, male or female, rich or poor to give Zakat-ul-Fitr if he has food exceeding his and his dependents' needs for one day and one night. A Muslim must pay on his or her own behalf and on the behalf of financial dependents that he or she is obligated to support such as spouse, children and dependent relatives. It should be paid before Salaat-ul-Eid.
For 2021 the Zakat-ul-Fitr rate is $ 10 per person. It is highly encouraged that you pay Zakat-ul-Fitr(Fitra) days in advance so that it could reach the poor and needy. Please calculate your Zakat-ul-Fitr and pay through this campaign as early as possible. Islamic Foundation will do the best to distribute Zakat-ul-Fitr before Eid-ul-Fitr.
