About

Dr. Mufti Abdul Wahid is a traditionally-trained scholar who has studied the Islamic sciences for many years under well-known scholars. Born into a Sikh family in Pakistan, he accepted Islam at the age of 16, following which he left home to pursue the Islamic sciences.  After memorizing a large portion of the Holy Qur’an, Mufti Abdul Wahid began studying Arabic with local scholars.
He then moved to a full-time Islamic institute, Jami’a Islamia Imdadia in Faisalabad, Pakistan. At Jami’a Imdadia, Mufti Abdul Wahid studied with many senior scholars, including Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Nadhir Ahmad, Shaykh Mufti Mujahid, and Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Zahid. He had the opportunity to study Arabic, Logic, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Usul al-Fiqh, Mustalah al-Hadith, and other subjects.
After completing the 8-year curriculum at Jami’a Imdadia, Mufti Abdul Wahid continued to pursue his studies at Jami’a Darul Uloom Karachi. He completed a course in Takhassus fi’l-Da’wah wa’l-Irshad
as well as the famous Takhassus fi’l-Iftaa‘ at the Jami’a. Mufti Abdul Wahid studied under several senior scholars, including Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Rafi’ Uthmani (the Grand Mufti of Pakistan), Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmani, Shaykh Mufti ‘Abd ar-Ra’uf Sakharwi, Shaykh Mufti Mahmud Ashraf ‘Uthmani, Shaykh Mufti Sayyid ‘Aziz ar-Rahman, Shaykh Mufti Asghar Ali Rabbani, Shaykh Mufti Abd al-Mannan, and Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Abdullah al-Barmi. Mufti Abdul Wahid concurrently completed a PhD from the University of Karachi, with his dissertation being a tahqiq of Nukhab al-Afkar fi Sharh Ma’ani al-Athar of ‘Allamah ‘Ayni.
He is also the author of several books, including a work on the teachers of Imam Tahawi, a research into the blessed name of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), and an account of how he accepted Islam.

For a community to flourish, it must follow the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAWS). The Family Team assists the community in organizing such Sunnahs as, Nikahs, Aqeeqahs etc. It also organizes Family Events where the community can come together for some ‘halal’ fun, thereby encouraging acts of selflessness from its members. Sharing meals, occasions of happiness and sorrow, all bring people together at Dutx and bind them into healthier relationships.
