The Present Situation
While we work on renovating the 805 Cedar Avenue property and obtaining the necessary town permits, we are currently renting a temporary space at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building in Secaucus for Friday and Ramadan prayers through His blessing and mercy. Alhamdulillah, we are at/overcapacity most Fridays and during Ramadan. The storage, set-up and takedown of the carpets and other arrangements would not be possible without the considerable effort of our dedicated volunteers, as depicted below. Parking is limited given the growing size of our congregation, which is an additional consideration for the permanent space we have purchased at 805 Cedar Avenue Masha'Allah.

The Proposed Project
Through the grace, mercy and blessing of Allah, we have closed on the first masjid in Secaucus at 805 Cedar Avenue with halal financing. However, a sizable amount of the purchase price is outstanding ($452,000) along with significant costs for renovations and town permits. Funds raised through our fundraising campaign will be applied towards the remainder of the purchase price ($452,000) with the remainder being used for renovations and permits to ensure compliance with town regulations. Additional funds are being raised through a combination of private donations and qard hasan.
The 805 Cedar Avenue masjid will enable, with His permission:
- Daily prayers
- Friday prayers
- Halaqas, workshops and panels
- Youth programs
- Kids activities
- Community social events
- A place to provide much-needed services for the community
- And much more insha'Allah!
