Our Mission

The mission is to enhance the quality of Iman (faith) and the application of Islam in the Greater Birmingham area. To this end, Birmingham Islamic Society is committed to:

  • Help the Muslims embrace Islamic values, and fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Engage, educate and mentor Muslim youths, and develop potential generations of leaders.
  • Involve and unite the Muslim community at large, and to build bridges with outside communities.
  • Provide and maintain comprehensive services to the Muslims.
  • Promote a better understanding of Islam among non-Muslims, and participate in local and national politics and community.

The Birmingham Islamic Society provides a comprehensive range of religious, educational, and social services designed to support the spiritual growth and well-being of our community members in the Greater Birmingham Area and beyond.



Our Key Services

Congregational Prayers We facilitate the five daily prayers, weekly Jumu'ah (Friday) services, Eid prayers, and nightly Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan to keep our community connected to the Masjid.

Weekend Islamic School Our Weekend Islamic School offers a structured curriculum focused on Islamic studies and Quranic education to nurture the next generation in a supportive environment.

Qur'an Lab A dedicated program focused on Tajweed (proper recitation) and Hifz (memorization), the Qur'an Lab helps students of various levels deepen their connection with the Holy Qur'an.

MYGroup - Muslim Youth Group We empower our young people through MYGroup, providing a space for social connection, youth halaqas, and community service projects that foster a strong, confident Muslim identity.

Red Crescent Clinic of Alabama In partnership with the community, we host the Red Crescent Clinic, providing compassionate, free healthcare services to uninsured and underserved families regardless of their background.

Islamic Will and Funeral Services We support families during their most difficult times by assisting with Janazah (funeral) arrangements, burial services, and guidance on preparing an Islamic Will.
